EXODUS

The worst has come to an end. Yes, Kerala had overcome the worst phase it can face. Kerala, my home town, know as GOD's OWN COUNTRY  is one of the most beautiful states of India. It is globally famous as one of the most popular travel destinations of India. It is its unique cultural and geographical features that make it internationally famous travel destination.

But... one day, all of a sudden everything turned upside down. We human's take everything for granted, it doesn't matter whether we had hurt someone or something, all that matters is our happiness and satisfaction and we never compromise on sacrificing it. And yes,we took our mother nature for granted which resulted in natural disaster. We all become selfish at some point of our life. But for malayalies a natural disaster was more than enough to teach us how to be selfless, and for that reason I am proud to say that I'm a malayali.

Not even in our dreams we were expecting a natural calamity flood since 1924, everything happened all of a sudden. Even though we were informed and alarmed about unusual rainfall, we didn't see it coming and washing away many of our dear and near ones life.

I must admit that, it was a terrifying tragedy for the whole southern state of India. For almost one week the disaster haunted the state and it took almost one month to overcome this scenario, many places and homes are still struggling to overcome, expecting the government authorities to provide them the need full.

Above all these, one thing I noted was the selfless helping hands of youngsters directly and indirectly who sacrificed everything for the helpless people of Kerala. Social media has played a major role in this situation without which many would have gone missing and isolated during flood. Yes, I know almost all the parents and elders have once cursed the gadgets and new digital technologies which had spoiled their children as a social media addict, gaming addict or for some other reason as well. But today, if you ask these same parents about the impact that social media has created during floods, I can tell you that, they will be only grateful. Because during that one week social media turned out to be a life saver for hundreds, literally.

Another life saving army were fishermen, policemen and rescue air-force. And I must say fishermen turned into superheros who saved more than thousands of life, expecting nothing in return, and refused whatever was offered as remuneration for their selfless efforts.

For all these reasons I think such kinda calamities are worthy if it can change our attitudes towards each others life from being greedy to helping selflessly expecting nothing in return.

And the worst has come to an end -EXODUS !!!
